ROAR Region 2 1/10th Indoor Off-Road Championships

The final round of the three race series to contend for the 2013 ROAR Region 2 1/10th off-road championships was held on Saturday February 9th, 2013 at the The Track in Gaithersburg, MD. The series was sponsored by Team Associated, J-Concepts, Hobbico, Viper RC, Tekin, Boca Bearings, Castle Creations, First Turn Racing and Radiopost.
The inauguarl series featured three indoor facilities in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Starting in November of 2012, the beginning of the indoor season for the east coast racers, near the trailhead of the famous Skyline Drive at East Coast Hobbies in Winchester, VA for the first round of competition. The series in January would then move north to the Bumps and Jumps Speedway in Etters, PA just outside the state's capital for high traction side by side racing. The series averaged 97 entries per event while competing for the 1/10th regional championships.
The playing field was leveled by hosting at different facilities and not providing any home court advantage in the final points. Track conditions varied at each facility which required racers to tune their suspensions and tire selections for each venue through out the series. Awards for the top three finishes in each class were presented at each round of the series. In addition, awards were presented to the top five finishers in each 1/10th class overall in the three races. The winners for each class are shown in the photos below.
