Seeking New Executive Committee Members

May 19, 2011
ROAR is looking for some experienced, enthusiastic help to staff the Executive Committee. This is an opportunity to give something back to the hobby that you enjoy so much, by help the shape its future by helping to establish rules and guidelines used in competition throughout the US and beyond. The ideal candidate will be a mature, and very experienced enthusiast that perhaps has experience as a shop owner, track operator, or as a dedicated racer. The most important characteristic is to look beyond today and anticipate future problems and solutions that come from the decisions we make today. Our organization is entirely volunteer in these positions, but you may be afforded the opportunity to travel to national and international events as a ROAR official, in addition to helping shape and create policies that benefit ROAR and its members for years and even decades to come. The ideal candidate will be a ROAR member with a broad market perspective. The positions are appointed by the ROAR President, and can continue for as long as you desire to make a contribution to the process. Interested individuals should contact President at roarracing dot com and let us know a little bit about yourself and which of the following positions you think you'd be best to fill. Open Positions and primary responsibilities: Competition Director - Work with tracks selected for National Level 5 ROAR events to be sure that all the paperwork and time-sensitive materials are completed by the assigned dates. Work with tracks to ensure compliance with ROAR regulations. Take care of various management duties related to running of National Events. Be available to serve as a ROAR official at National events (not a requirement, but a plus). Promotions Director - The title pretty much says it all. You would be in charge of formulating and executing plans to promote ROAR, and special services for ROAR members. As a volunteer organization, working efficiently and maximizing the return on investment is important, but it's a simple objection that can have solutions that are as simple or as complex as time allows. Sanctioning Director - Is the direct liaison between the elected ROAR Regional Directors and the Executive Committee. The ideal person will help to answer questions and assist Region Directors as much as possible to promote and execute events within their regions. the Sanctioning Director will also have the responsibility of providing sanction numbers for Regional events. We have a good core group on the ROAR Executive Committee and we'd like to fill it out with people that have a genuine interest in steering the hobby in the right direction, and with people that can see the RC world beyond their own personal desires. If you think you can contribute to the process in a team environment, forward proposals that are lucid and considerate of the entire RC community with an emphasis on growing the racing community from the bottom up, we'd really like to hear from you.
